In 2009 48 teams met in the early hours in Dover, some had driven there through the night, others looked rough from the night before at the pub.
After all the teams had bordered the ferry and took their photos of the sleeping seaman, we entered France and later that day, Paris.
The next day took its first casualty, the infamous Men in S(crap) lost their clutch and that was the end of their rally.
After a heavy in Munich we took the short trip to Prague, a tired bunch of ralliers gathered at the meeting point I anticipation of the last night and the next days drive, the longest of the trip. A good night had by all and lots of talk about “The Gits” being pulled by Germany’s “Police Camera Action” and “Blaze of Glory” having to withdraw due to a broken cam belt.
The longest drive of the trip took us back through Germany and Holland to Amsterdam, where our closing party took place. Awards were given to team 57 for best theme, team 12 for best car of show and team 29 for characters of Coyote.
Team 47 “The Rat Pack” didn’t make the start due to a mechanical fault and spent the next 3 days catching us up, we salute you guys for your dedication.
After 4 days and nights of chaos, fast driving and a few too
many, almost everyone made it home in one piece.
Entries for the Coyote Rally 2010 are now open, be sure not to miss out.
